Policy Analyst

Position Summary:
Softheon is looking for an entry level Policy Analyst with a knack for tracking, researching, and analyzing opportunities. The ideal person will enjoy working with a variety of people engaged in our government and health plan business segments. The Policy Analyst will work with and support the Senior Policy Analyst with long-term projects and complex research and assist in developing new client prospects and cultivating and nurturing existing relationships.


Requirements

Key Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
  • Tracking, researching, and monitoring opportunities in procurement repositories (e.g., GovWin).
  • Organizing and maintaining our registrations with procurement entities.
  • Tracking all activity we have with prospects in Salesforce.
  • Researching information about our competitors (e.g., other technology vendors).
  • Tracking, monitoring, and reporting on sales or policy relevant communications from state government or health plan entities.
  • Tracking, attending, and summarizing developments at State Exchanges (e.g., board meetings) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) (e.g., certain stakeholder calls).
  • Helping generate content on rules and policies that Softheon can send to clients as updates (i.e., anything market relevant, changes in policy, etc.).
  • Working with the Senior Policy Analyst and the VP of Healthcare Solutions to nurture relationships with policy organizations such as National Academy of State Health Policy (NASHP) or National Association of Medicaid Directors (NAMD).
  • Prospecting and setting up appointments and introductory meetings.
  • Helping with market or policy research projects as needed.
  • Supporting the Senior Policy Analyst with news collection for the Softheon Health Policy Newsletter.
  • Working on blog posts with the Senior Policy Analyst.
  • Supporting the Senior Policy Analyst in the creation of Policy Town Halls.
  • Supporting the RFP process through research, analysis, and attending RFP calls.
  • Helping with background research prior to conferences and events.
  • Researching legislation and regulations.
  • Less than 5% of travel may be required.
Qualifications:
  • BA or BS from a 4-year institution in Political Science / Politics, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience.
  • An interest in health care or technology (or ideally both) as demonstrated through work, internship experience, or coursework taken.
  • Experience in MS Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to consistently manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, LinkedIn, and Twitter is preferred.
