Senior Academic Evaluator

SENIOR ACADEMIC EVALUATOR – WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

The Senior Academic Evaluator will report to the Administrative Director of the School of Medicine. The individual will collaborate with senior academic leadership in designing, measuring and reporting on School of Medicine initiatives in both the research and education domains. This includes qualitative and quantitative assessment of outcomes measuring impact of WFUSM and Health Sciences based projects.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 

  • Master’s degree with at least 4 years of program evaluation or research experience (PhD preferred)
  • Experience designing and leading evaluations or research projects
  • Experience reporting on qualitative and quantitative data, as well as mixed methods approaches

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Design, implement, and oversee evaluation of large scale projects that effectively evaluates impact
  2. Use strong and versatile writing and analytical skills to write proposals, reports, white papers and manuscripts
  3. Create or adapt data collection tools and protocols
  4. Monitor and coordinate data collection, conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of School of Medicine and Health Sciences based projects
  5. Provide metrics based reports and present findings to clients
  6. Design and conduct research and evaluation studies on a variety of issues and policies. Report findings and recommendations in an objective manner
  7. Design and develop questionnaires for evaluation studies, design and implement methods of data collection, and determine appropriate analyses. Analyze, interpret, and report research findings.
  8. Design qualitative/quantitative data collection, implement collection, analyze, and objectively report findings.
  9. Collect and interpret statistical and analytical information and prepare periodic reports for clients.
  10. Collect and analyze information for senior administrators and prepare necessary reports.
  11. Participate as a key contributor to the development and implementation of School of Medicine based evaluation services including assisting with strategic planning and goal setting as it relates to evaluation.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in analyzing data using statistical package(s), SAS, SPSS
  • Ability to organize data and communicate research, evaluations and measurement or statistical concepts to non-statisticians
  • Ability to analyze both quantitative and qualitative data
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including writing in a concise and clear manner for a variety of audiences
  • Interpersonal and facilitation skills, specifically client and team management skills
  • Excellent project management skills, particularly the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing demands
  • Experience evaluating programs related to academic medical centers
