Part-time Child Advocacy Center (CAC) Trauma Therapist

ABOUT LAWS
Founded in 1984, LAWS is Loudoun County's designated nonprofit to provide domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse survivors with services and supports. In addition to operating an emergency shelter and a 24/7 survivor hotline, LAWS also supports adult, youth, and child victims through therapy, legal services, support groups, advocacy, and community outreach. LAWS also operates The Resourceful Woman, a thrift store benefiting LAWS services, and it runs the Loudoun Child Advocacy Center. The Center is a public/private partnership among Loudoun County agencies and organizations dedicated to child victims of abuse and/or neglect.
LAWS seeks to empower victims of domestic and sexual violence so that they may live lives free from fear, anxiety, and danger. All services are confidential and free of charge.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LAWS CAC Trauma Therapist
The CAC Trauma Therapist is a member of the multidisciplinary team and provides trauma-focused, evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy to child and youth victims of physical and sexual abuse and maltreatment and non-offending caregivers to reduce trauma symptoms and build resiliency. Additionally, the therapist provides therapeutic services, conducts evaluations, administers, and interprets assessment instruments, develops treatment plans, completes documentation, remains current on trauma treatment practices, contributes and participates as a member of the CAC's MDTs, provides court testimony, conducts forensic interviews as necessary, and assists CAC Director in gathering and preparing statistical reports.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Masters; Discipline: Social Work; Psychology; Counseling
  • Licensure: licensed; license eligible; working under supervision for licensure (LCSW, LPC)
  • Background in trauma therapy with children and/or youth is strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)

WORK SCHEDULE
Our rewarding part-time position is in Leesburg, VA. Evenings may be required. The range for this position is $25.24 - $38.46 per hour.
