Camp Greenway Drama and Music Specialist

General


The Drama/Music Specialist is responsible for planning and implementing fun and engaging activities for campers in Rising K-Rising 3rd grades and with various levels of drama and music experience. Priority should be placed on fun and engaging activities that involve all campers. The Specialist will plan a variety of drama and music activities including skits, games, and short lessons. Please note that Music and Drama are two separate activities that campers participate in that will be coordinated by one Specialist. The Specialist must be knowledgeable about Drama and Music and be confident in creating unique lessons and experiences

Requirements


One year of college (or equivalent experience) is required. This position is exempt and may work more than a 40-hour work week. A COVID-19 vaccination is required for all staff.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and facilitates hands-on programs, crafts, games, and other core-camp activities for all groups.
  • Creates fun, age-appropriate, and diversified drama and music activities. These activities should change each week.
  • Designs an original program for all 9 weeks of camp and submit during staff training.
  • Takes a full inventory of all available supplies and creates a list of items that are needed for successful program execution.
  • Cleans and inventories all items at the end of camp
  • Actively supervises campers; implements and enforces safety guidelines and campus rules.
  • Keeps track of camp supplies and conveys supply needs to Program Director.
  • Supports Counselors and Junior Counselors in facilitating activities by providing easy to understand instructions. Should meet up with Counselors and Junior Counselors during the morning meeting to relay plans for the day.
