This internship is for outgoing, hardworking, individuals who want to pursue a career in youth and amateur sports facility management.
The Fredericksburg Field House, located in Fredericksburg, VA, is 1 of 8 facilities managed by Eastern Sports Management. Each of these facilities focus on keeping people of all ages active. The offerings range from leagues, tournaments, rentals, birthday parties, before & after school, summer camps, and much more. Internship Overview
The internship program offers students a unique opportunity designed to provide hands-on experience to motivated young professionals entering into the industry of youth and amateur sports facility management. During this internship, students will be exposed to marketing, sponsorship, facility maintenance, food and beverage operations and business administration.
Each student intern has the opportunity to complete up to 400 hours to satisfy graduation requirements. These cases will be addressed individually. This is an unpaid internship, you must receive at least one (1) credit for the onsite experience from an accredited college/university.
Internships Requirements
- Current undergraduate or graduate student.
- Outstanding teammate; excellent communication skills; creative.
- Ability to balance multiple projects at once and is detail driven.
- Ability to learn quickly and motivation to self-teach.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Organized, detailed, and results driven.
- Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- General knowledge of recreational sports and is passionate about building an exciting atmosphere for participants.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Reliable transportation and housing.
