Pediatric Occupational Therapist--9 month/year

This is a great opportunity to work with highly skilled senior OTs and other pediatric specialists in a variety of settings including educational, clinical and virtual settings. We are currently seeking two Occupational Therapists to provide therapy, evaluations and planning for children. The positions offer many options including working with children birth-3 years, 3-5 years, or birth-18 in an outpatient setting as well as options for combining all of those. We offer company paid benefits including health insurance, retirement and flexible working schedule.

Base position is for 1295 hours in a 9 month work calendar per year, working 35 hours per week with summer, winter break, spring break and major holidays off. Additional salary levels available for additional hours per week and during the summer and other breaks. Salary range shows minimum and maximum salary available to successful candidates.

INTRODUCTION:
1.    To provide a comprehensive occupational therapy program to children with disabilities and other medical needs from birth to age 18.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.    Conduct screenings of motor development as requested in order to identity the need for further evaluation.
2.    Conduct formal and informal evaluations including standardized tests and clinical observation and compile results into a multidisciplinary report.
3.    Participate in the development and review of the IEP/IFSP for identified children including writing annual goals and short-term objectives.
4.    Provide individual and small group therapy in accordance with the IEP/IFSP.
5.    Provide occupational therapy services in inclusive preschool classrooms and/or other settings.
6.    Provide consultation and training to teachers, other therapists and support staff regarding therapeutic procedures and techniques, positioning and feeding programs, adaptive equipment, and other activities needed to achieve IEP/IFSP goals and objectives.
7.    Assist parents and other caregivers through consultation or home programming in understanding the child’s needs, occupational therapy services, and how to assist the child in the home setting.
8.    Collect and report data and other information about the child’s progress.
9.    Supervise the delivery of services by paraprofessional staff members, practicum students and volunteers, as needed.
10.  Assist in the transition of children from the program into the public schools.
11.  Other duties as assigned relating to the effective delivery of services to children with disabilities and their families.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1.    Master’s degree in occupational therapy with AOTA registration. Licensure by State of Wyoming is required. Pediatric interest required.
