The EPA National Student Services Contract has an immediate opening for a full-time contractor position, IT Project Support with the Office of Research and Development at the EPA facility in Research Triangle Park, NC.

Salary: $ 22.91 per hour.

Travel: No overnight travel anticipated.

Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated education and/or experience in both information technology and customer service;
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and have experience working in teams.
  • The applicant should possess strong written, oral and electronic communication skills;
  • Strong customer service skills (i.e., interpersonal skills, handling conflicts, etc.);
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), desktop publishing, web conferencing (Adobe Connect and Lync);
  • Experience in managing records (electronic and hardcopy) or databases;
  • Strong communication skills (i.e., written, oral, telephone etiquette, presentation abilities), including effective multi-media technical communications; and
  • Experience developing applications.


Desired Skills:
  • Experience involving information technology and management communication.


Qualifications
  • Be at least 18 years of age and
  • Have earned at least a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Information Technology or other related area from an accredited university or college within the last 24 months and
  • Be a citizen of the United States of America or a Legal Permanent Resident.


EPA ORD employees, their spouses, and children are not eligible to participate in this program.


What the EPA project is about
The Office of Research and Development at the EPA supports high-quality research to improve the scientific basis for decisions on national environmental issues and help EPA achieve its environmental goals. Research is conducted in a broad range of environmental areas by scientists in EPA laboratories and at universities across the country.

The Office of Science Information (OSIM)within The Office of Research and Development (ORD) at EPA work to stimulate sustainable solutions to environmental problems. The team develops and encourages new ideas throughout the ORD research program.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent bachelor’s graduate to collaborate with EPA’s research team. Research experience includes:

  • Researching, coordinating and summarizing information relating to information technology and management requests;
  • Analysis of activities and processes in the formation and development of information technology and management policy
  • Assist the team in developing oral presentations results and impacts using graphics and other interactive formats;
  • Networking and exploring many career paths at EPA.
