Summer Camp Intern

Location: Frying Pan Farm Park
Schedule: 20-30 hours per week. Mostly weekdays but some weekends required. 
Work at a dynamic historic park, Frying Pan Farm Park in Herndon, Virginia. Seeking a creative, self-motived individual who loves working with children. This position is responsible for assisting camp director and counselors with admin task, day to day operations of site camps, and assist with the Fairfax County 4-H Fair.

o   Communication with camp families via email
o   Ensure that all require paperwork is sent out to families and received back 
o   Coordinate with site staff with schedules and special task
o   Track attendance and create report for director.
o   Assist with before and after care of campers
o   Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license. Comfortable with larger groups and speaking in public. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite programs. Be able to work outdoors, stand for long periods, traverse uneven ground, carry, pull and (or) lift up to 40 pounds unassisted.
Preferred Qualifications: Background in child development, park and recreations, or education. Proficient with Microsoft publisher. Self-motivated and comfortable working alone and in a team setting. First Aid, CPR certification.
Special Requirements: Special Requirements: All newly hired employees/interns are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last required dose) as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. Proof of an exemption or vaccination status will be required during the pre-employment onboarding process. New employees who obtain an exemption from the vaccine mandate for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs may be subject to a weekly testing requirement. Vaccinated employees and employees with a medical or religious exemption will complete the attestation online on their first day of employment or shortly thereafter.
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background, Child Protective Services Registry, driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer. Must be available to work the annual 4-H Fair, August 3-6.
