Registered Nurse - Transplant (New Grad)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

22 bed adult inpatient unit, specializing in the care and treatment of patients who have received solid organ abdominal transplants. The unit manages patients pre and post kidney, liver, and kidney/pancreas transplants as well as other overflow specialties. There are 5 stepdown beds to closely monitor transplant patients with arterial lines and specialized drips. The transplant unit requires all nurses to become ACLS certified and proficient in peritoneal dialysis within the first 6 months of hire. The patient population also includes a vast array of medical-surgical patients. This unit also offers opportunities for nurses to obtain required ongoing transplant specific education and highly encourages a specialty certification in several areas to include transplant, wound care, and med/surg.
