Pharmaceutical Inside Sales Representative (MT)

Looking to get a foot in the door in Pharmaceutical sales? We're growing and seeking a well-rounded, college graduate for an inside sales representative position on a new complex pharmaceutical sales team. In this pharma sales position, you’ll play a key role in bringing lifesaving outcomes to patients by assisting our partner in providing innovative therapies to people who are impacted by acute and life-threatening illnesses. The role entails marketing an infused antibiotic designed for the treatment of acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSIs) to health care providers at acute hospital facilities and outpatient treatment centers.
Job Responsibilities:
The Inside Sales Representative will work in conjunction with the field sales organization. Job responsibilities include all aspects of sales to Infectious Disease Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacists and Microbiologists, and other Health Care Practitioners within the Infectious Disease therapeutic space. Specific functions include prospecting, account profiling, pipeline creation, coordinating education calls, collaborative engagement of field sales representatives, post-sales account management, and ultimate customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Support the educational and training needs of HCPs including providing additional education in response to unsolicited requests; providing pharmacy and lab support, providing account education, facilitating development and implementation of individual institution needs, protocols, and appropriate scientific exchange.
  • The role includes educating clinicians on the clinical benefits of key antibiotic products to facilitate and gain improved institutional formulary access while expanding appropriate product utilization, through protocol adoption, to exceed business and customer objectives with assigned hospitals and IDNs.
  • Successfully complete required therapeutic training and demonstrate competency in communicating information in support of the Infectious Disease area; retain and relay information from relevant publications, journals, and webinars.  
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with current and prospective Key Opinion Leaders (KOL’s) and other prominent health care providers as they relate to antibiotic treatment therapies and infectious disease clinical pathways. 
  • Serve as key sales resource to these institutional hospital accounts and their respective healthcare stakeholders.
  • Accurately respond to complex medical questions from institutional-based health care providers in accordance with approved company guidance and all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards using approved content.
  • Identify, collect, and communicate insights related to competitor information and physician product utilization and practice trends.
  • Document interactions and activities in appropriate databases, retaining and submitting required expenses and meeting defined qualitative and quantitative objectives.

Skills required:
  • College degree – BA/BS – Lifesciences degree in Pharma/ Microbiology/Biology a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and presentation skills. (Must have strong phone presence with a positive, outgoing personality)
  • Multitasking: The ability to simultaneously manage & move forward multiple sales opportunities through the sales cycle.
  • Sales Effectiveness: The ability to find, develop & close sales opportunities.
  • Business Acumen: The ability to understand & add value to the customer’s business model.
  • Adaptive: The ability to modify sales strategy & tactics to adjust to the changes in the competitive & economic market conditions.
  • One to two years of previous sales experience preferred. Background in, and/or understanding of Acute facility and Hospital Outpatient sales is a plus; however, we will train the right candidate.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience. Successful candidates will receive a salary, commission, professional sales training, and experience in pharmaceutical sales. Sagamore offers comprehensive health and dental benefits, 401K and 15 Paid Days Off.
