Communication & Marketing Specialist, CTA Foundation
 
Basic Function of the Position:
The CTA Foundation is looking for someone to capture and tell the stories of the work we do and the organizations we support. Our mission is to link older adults and people with disabilities with technologies that enhance their lives. Amongst the various roles of the Specialist will be responsible for leading efforts with Foundation grant recipients and developing marketing and social media content for the CTA Foundation. This is an ideal position for candidates interested in becoming philanthropic leaders and learning the operations of a Foundation. This position will offer the opportunity to work closely with the technology industry, CTA staff and non-profits across the country.
 
Critical Duties and Responsibilities:
·        Write content for blog entries, articles, newsletters, social media, and press releases. Ensure the website is up to date and accurate.
·        Develop a marketing and communications plan by engaging with internal stakeholders to align content strategies.
·        Support the Request for Proposal (RFP) process with both grant applicants and recipients. Collect reports on progress and assist in the crafting of messaging to highlight impact from those results.
·        Support scheduling and arranging speakers for monthly calls with Foundation grant recipients.
·        Support CTA Foundation activities at CES, including events, meetings, and working with VIP guests.
·        Assist with proofreading and editing documents.
·        Provide meeting support, including scheduling, logistical set up, and serving as meeting scribe.
·        Attend meetings and activities on behalf of the CTA Foundation.
·        Perform other duties as required by business needs.
 
Work Experience:
·        At least 3-5 years’ experience working in a nonprofit environment 
·        Knowledge of digital accessibility and disability inclusion is preferred
·        Knowledge using various social media platforms including Twitter and LinkedIn preferred
 
Education/Training:
·        Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism, marketing or related field preferred, or commensurate experience
 
Skills/Capabilities/Technical:
·        Excellent customer service skills
·        Excellent written and verbal communication with an emphasis on storytelling
·        Ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines
·        Ability to work independently
·        Strong organizational skills
·        Ability to conduct research online
 
Additional Information:
·        An interest in philanthropy, as well as aging and/or disability issues, is beneficial
·        Energetic, innovative, and resourceful self-starter
·        Tenacious work ethic, results-oriented, and a sense of urgency in solving problems
·        Ease and effectiveness in relating to diverse audiences, including those with disabilities
·        Travel to CES required
·        This a “Hybrid” workplace. We currently work 2 days in the office (Tues. & Weds.) and the rest remote. Depending on the department need and candidate schedule, this could change.
