Quality Process Engineer

The Quality Process Engineer will support Quality projects essential to product development and product manufacturing to ensure quality product reaches the end customer. The Quality Process Engineer will coach, guide and work with cross-functional manufacturing teams to initiate continuous process improvements and ensure root cause/corrective actions are implemented and completed.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support and Co-lead the World Class Manufacturing QPC Pillar.
  • Follow safe work practices both in the lab and plant environment by adhering to plant safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform document and data control functions.
  • Administer PPAP program as required by customers.    
  • Structured data driven problem solving.
  • Maintain Material Review Board process and reject area.
  • Chart monthly performance metrics.
  • Maintain process for determining and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Process internal plant corrective and preventive actions.
  • Internal ISO 9001:2015 auditor; compete internal audits and participate in annual audits.                       
  • Assist in the analysis of laboratory data.
  • Conduct Gage R&R’s and Capability studies.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of customer requirements.
  • Understand consequences and prevention methods of non-conformance issues.
  • Coordinate with IS Technician to ensure that lab hardware and software function properly and work is completed on a timely basis.
  • Co-Lead Product Conformity Audit; to include updating DCT.
  • Perform annual testing of products and send certifications to customers.
  • Manage incoming raw materials process to include certification review and data entry.
  • Schedule and implement outsource testing as required.
  • Manage Customer Required FAR Burn testing.
  • Manage UL certification process to include testing product.
  • Manage Sales Samples to include collection and shipment.
  • Administrator-Aims Setup to include AAP/CAP, label database.
  • Administrator- Qualtrax Document Control Database.
  • Projects as assigned.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Chemistry related field required.
  • 5 years of General QA experience in manufacturing environment required.
  • Ability to excel in a cross-cultural, global team environment.
  • Possesses professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Can work independently and multi-task in faced paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office application, systems, systems
  • Solid understanding of statistical process control and world class manufacturing techniques.
  • Knowledge of rubber processing: mixing, curing, extrusion and foaming is desired but not required.
  • Proven ability to lead effective teams and manage others.
  • Proven experience in creating technical solutions.
  • Proven experience in project management and risk management.
