Stanford Clinical Summer Internship

The Stanford Clinical Summer Internship (CSI) is a 2-week program for rising juniors, seniors in high school and undergraduate students designed to empower and energize them with the knowledge to plan for a career in medicine. The rich and unique curriculum includes skills sessions, interactive lectures, and hands-on activities in a variety of specialties taught by top-notch Stanford faculty.

There are two sessions:
  • Session 1 (In person): July 10 - 21, 2023
  • Session 2 (Virtual): July 24 - Aug 4, 2023

How to Apply (read carefully before applying):
  • Register for a SlideRoom account.
  • Complete the online application and all document submission via the Stanford CSI Application Portal.
  • Upload transcripts (last 2 years) from attending high school or college; unofficial copies are acceptable.
  • Upload score reports for the PSAT, SAT, or ACT. International applicants are NOT required to submit test scores.
  • Upload a current resume.
  • Complete two short essays
  • Request (via the online application) a letter of recommendation from your STEM teacher or guidance counselor. An email request for a recommendation will be sent to your teacher or counselor as part of the Stanford CSI application process in the Stanford CSI Application Portal. The recommendation must be submitted no later than one week after the application deadline. Your application file will not be considered complete until the letter is received.
  • Submit the $95 application fee online with a credit card or by mail with a check. Details regarding the application fee are included in the Stanford CSI Application Portal. U.S Citizens and Permanent Residents whose annual household income is under $80,000 or who are enrolled in a program that aids low-income families, can submit an application fee waiver request using this form.
