Corporate Law Summer Internship

Summary:

This position will assist the Law Department of Tyson Foods, Inc. (Company) in a wide variety of practice areas at the Company’s world headquarters in Springdale, Arkansas. The corporate law intern will conduct legal research and analysis, prepare legal documents, conduct legal review of contracts and agreements, compile case or legal matter materials, and write reports or memoranda in order to assist in-house counsel. The intern will attend internal meetings with business clients, department and company events, assist in-house counsel with matters involving outside counsel, and coordinate with various third parties, such as regulatory agencies, government entities, opposing counsel, and vendors. The intern will support the Company’s in-house counsel in employment, labor, environmental, commercial litigation, regulatory enforcement, contracting, M&A, compliance, and corporate governance. 

Requirements:

Education: Currently enrolled LLM or JD student at an ABA-accredited law school.

Experience: Office experience preferred. None required.

Computer skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.

Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a broad range of stakeholders.

Special skills: Candidate must possess good judgment, the capability to work independently with oversight from multiple attorneys, and comfort with collaboration.

Supervisory: No direct reports. This position reports to an in-house attorney.

Dates: Flexible start and end date, but the position is expected to last for at least an 8-week period in the summer of 2023. 

Travel: No travel anticipated.

This position is in-person; not remote or hybrid.
