Remote Law U.S. Reports Metadata Program

The Law Library of Congress seeks interns for an exciting digital project. The project will provide open access to the opinions of the Supreme Court on the Law Library of Congress’ website with searching and browsing capabilities. Interns will work remotely, reading Supreme Court cases and assigning keywords and subject terms to the cases they read. Interns will be unpaid, but may use this position for course credit, if applicable to their school’s requirements.

Interns must have reliable Internet access, an email address they regularly check, Microsoft Excel, and a PDF viewer. The ideal candidate will work online for at least 15 hours per week for 8-10 weeks or more this summer. Familiarity with US history, case law, and assigning terms from a controlled vocabulary is preferred, but all higher education students are welcome to apply.
