Manager, Workforce Development Programs

Position Summary:
The Manager, Workforce Development Programs of the Human Rights Campaign Foundation is responsible for programmatic and administrative tasks of the program with a primary focus on supporting the pilot implementation of “Next Level,” the program’s new financial health, job readiness and wellness course for the LGBTQ+ community. This position is responsible for supporting the overall implementation, operation and evaluation of pilot activities, including serving as the main liaison with pilot sites and the go-to support person for pilot program participants.

This position is a temporary, full-time position ending approximately March 31, 2024. Possible extension depending on funding.

A successful candidate is not required to be in the Washington, DC area as this position is eligible for a fully remote status. 

Position Responsibilities:
  • In collaboration with the Deputy Director, manage the pilot preparation and delivery of “Next Level,” the HRC Foundation’s new 10-week course for LGBTQ+ young adults (age 18-30) focusing on financial health, job readiness and wellness. 
  • Provide technical assistance, support, and capacity-building training to pilot sites.
  • Collaborate with the Deputy Director to cultivate and support program expansion by documenting and sharing best practices throughout the pilot process.
  • Provide one-to-one support to pilot site program participants, including assistance troubleshooting technology issues and overcoming other potential barriers to participation.
  • Support the development and refinement of program-related curricula and resources.
  • Manage the relationship between the HRC Foundation, pilot sites, funders and contracted third-party consultants.
  • Prepare internal and external program-related reports as requested by internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in project management of an LGBTQ+ community financial health survey and the launch of a new financial health online education platform in collaboration with LifeCents.
  • Help facilitate and coordinate meetings with advisory groups and other stakeholders, including logistics planning, agenda-setting, and content delivery.
  • Partner with Deputy Director to track key project timelines and grant deliverables, data collection and evaluation, and communicating with funders.
  • Contribute to ongoing efforts to strengthen the racial equity impact of Next Level.
  • Create and maintain public education resources on financial health, job readiness and wellness, including PDFs and web pages.
  • Carry out other duties related to workforce development programs, the HRC Foundation, and HRC as assigned.
 
Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or (equivalent work experience) with three to five years’ relevant work experience. 
  • Exceptional organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, time management, regular reporting, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including maintaining a can-do, positive approach with colleagues even in environments where multiple projects and priorities must be successfully balanced.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, while balancing administrative, programmatic and management functions and work individually, within the division and cross-organizationally to maximize the effectiveness of existing program work.  
  • Must be able to work quickly and accurately with a high level of professionalism, organization and collaboration, and handle confidential materials with discretion.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and Google Apps (Gmail, Google Docs and Drive).
  • Ability to work independently and in teams in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Initiative and the ability to anticipate needs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to LGBTQ+ issues and diversity, equity and inclusion. 
  • Understanding of the importance of intersectionality and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion work.
