Public Relations - Intern

ID, the largest independently owned full-service communications agency in the entertainment industry, welcomes applicants to intern in our for NYC and LA offices in the Spring of 2023. Interns will join our innovative team of strategists who collaborate with influential clients across the entertainment, consumer, tech and philanthropic spaces.

The mission of ID’s Internship Program is to provide eligible college students enrolled in accredited programs with a rigorous, high-quality educational and practical experience in our field that will afford them a competitive advantage in pursuing entry-level opportunities post graduation.

Interns will join our Brands, Talent/Music, Content (Film & Television), or Digital Strategy departments to gain exposure to, and mentoring in, our business and philosophy, with an opportunity to participate in departmental initiatives and tactical execution. Ideal candidates will have a passion for all things entertainment, news and pop culture, a knack for organization, a keen eye for detail as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.

Program opportunities include but are not limited to:
An introduction to the industry media landscape and the role and importance of public relations and strategic communications.
A survey of necessary tools and resources including press contact lists, project slates, press kits and campaign wrap reports.
Learning how to conduct new business research for upcoming pitches, meetings, and proposals.
Gaining confidence with drafting press materials, including pitch letters, screening invites and press releases.
Using aggregators and online sources to monitor traditional press and social media for client mentions, and compiling comprehensive coverage and recap reports.
Participating in creative projects such as video editing (TikTok / Reels), graphic design and creative writing for social media campaigns.
Learning to conduct extensive press research to assist with the creation of targeted media lists, coverage reports and media audits.
Attending in-person and virtual press events, including premieres, press days and press screenings.
Attending weekly departmental meetings and contributing to brainstorms.

Requirements:
Be enrolled in an accredited college program offering academic credit for participation. Attend the two-day orientation session, in-person and/or virtually.
Stay through the end of the program to participate in the presentation of the final project.
Commit to a minimum of 16-20 hours per week - dates and hours can vary based on school/work schedules.
