Duties
The appointee will mainly work on developing & applying nano- and advanced materials, especially for inorganic materials such as metal & non-metal compounds, carbon-containing materials and polymeric materials. He/she will work in a dynamic team which is responsible for:
- Synthesis & modification of nano- and advanced metal / non-metal compounds, such as oxides, carbides, nitrides;
- Fabrication & surface treatment of such advanced materials;
- Using high temperature equipment and gas system;
- Characterization of chemical, physical and mechanical properties;
- Applying home-made materials for final / semi-final products
- Evaluating sample performance;
- Design the scale-up process of final products;
- Collaboration with other research staffs and industrial partners on R&D works; and
- Performing other duties assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- PhD degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or related disciplines;
- Expertise in multiple investigation & testing of chemical, physical, mechanical properties;
- Experiences of working on nano- / advanced inorganic materials is preferred;
- Hard-working and capability of working independently and under pressure;
- Good analytical and troubleshooting skills;
- A good team player with strong problem-solving and communications skills; creative in generating/incubating new ideas; and
- Good command of English and Chinese, articulate report writing/presentation skills as well as abilities in literature/patent search.
