Technical Engineering Intern

As an intern at Synopsys, you will gain hands-on experience while working alongside industry professionals. You will develop and refine skills relevant to your major and future career by contributing to high-impact business projects. The Synopsys intern program integrates our interns into the culture with career opportunities upon graduation. This summer internship is full-time (40 hours/week) beginning May/June 2023 and will last three months.

 

Responsibilities:

You will focus on the improvement of the 3DIC multi-die Synthesis Placement & Routing (SP&R) flow (currently experimental), with emphasis of developing automated QoR measurement and comparison techniques. The focus will be given to a specific design style where macros (or SRAMs) and standard cells are located on separate dies. Other styles and flows will be pursued if resource and time permit. 

As an intern, you will: 
  • Work with our principal R&D to improve the flow.
  • Develop automated QoR measurements tools that will be integrated in our PRS, R&D and/or PV Regression systems.
  • Ensure the automated system will be part of daily/weekly regular runs.


Requirements:

  • Understanding for Hardware description languages (System Verilog, Verilog, VHDL)
  • Good understanding of RTL design (project work as part of college program is preferred)
  • Exposure to assertion based formal verification/simulation-based verification is preferred
  • Good communication skills
  • Some experience with multi-media editing tools is preferred but not mandatory
  • Currently enrolled in college pursuing MS or PhD in relevant field
