Servo Product Development Summer Intern

About our group:

 
The Servo Engineer Intern at our Longmont, CO facility is heavily focused on you working as a member of the Servo Engineering Department with a focus on tools for hard disk drive characterization and development.

We expect to hire two interns for this position. 

About the role - you will:

 
  • Partner with others to develop real-time embedded firmware and electronics for realization of advanced high-complexity controls systems.
  • Develop statistical models and collect empirical verification data of drive performance.
  • Integrate and validate the control system and firmware drivers for a new generation of actuators and sensors.

About you:

 
  • Strong software programming skills – Python, C, MatLab
  • Understands and enjoys working on digital and analog circuits, digital control systems concepts, and firmware
  • Strong communication and technical leadership skills as you will be working with various teams and team members
  • Willingness and ability to support after-hour calls as part of a global team.

Your experience includes:

 
  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical / Computer Science / Mechanical / Physics / Aerospace engineering or other related degree and will be enrolled in Fall 2023.
  • Some exposure through class projects, or internships in developing and maintaining processes for design and validation of embedded systems.
  • Software programming skills – Python, C, MatLab
  • Experience in Digital Control Systems concepts
  • Accomplished lab skills, including the operation of oscilloscopes, trace tools, data collection tools and data analysis techniques.

Colorado's 2021 Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) requires we inform you of the estimated base hourly range for this position: $23-28.50. The actual range is based on fair market value of the role in the geography in which you live based on the requirements of the job and your skills. This posted salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, and Seagate reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
