Servo Product Development Summer Intern
About our group:
The Servo Engineer Intern at our Longmont, CO facility is heavily focused on you working as a member of the Servo Engineering Department with a focus on tools for hard disk drive characterization and development.
We expect to hire two interns for this position.
About the role - you will:
- Partner with others to develop real-time embedded firmware and electronics for realization of advanced high-complexity controls systems.
- Develop statistical models and collect empirical verification data of drive performance.
- Integrate and validate the control system and firmware drivers for a new generation of actuators and sensors.
About you:
- Strong software programming skills – Python, C, MatLab
- Understands and enjoys working on digital and analog circuits, digital control systems concepts, and firmware
- Strong communication and technical leadership skills as you will be working with various teams and team members
- Willingness and ability to support after-hour calls as part of a global team.
Your experience includes:
- Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical / Computer Science / Mechanical / Physics / Aerospace engineering or other related degree and will be enrolled in Fall 2023.
- Some exposure through class projects, or internships in developing and maintaining processes for design and validation of embedded systems.
- Software programming skills – Python, C, MatLab
- Experience in Digital Control Systems concepts
- Accomplished lab skills, including the operation of oscilloscopes, trace tools, data collection tools and data analysis techniques.
