Police Recruit

We are now accepting applications for Lateral and Recruit Police Officers!

We’re looking for quality individuals with the highest level of ethics and integrity who want to serve the Garland community.

You qualify for our Department by having one of the below 4:

- 60 College credit hours, with a 2.0 GPA

- Two years’ active duty in the United States Military with a General or Honorable Discharge

- Two years of service as a full time paid peace officer (in the state of TX or outside)

-Two years of work experience for a local, state, or federal government employer (see below for examples)

Jailers/Correction Officers

Dispatchers

Animal Control Officer

Local City Employees (all)

School District Employees (all)

State Employees (all)

State funded College/University (all)

National Guard Members/Military Reserve Member (with no active duty time)
