Supervisory Physical Scientist

Summary
This Direct-Hire position is in the Food and Drug Administration and is located in the National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR), Office of Scientific Coordination (OSC), Nanotechnology Core Facility (NanoCore), with a research mission of providing the support necessary for conducting nanomaterial characterization, in vitro and in vivo toxicology studies.

Duties
  • Provides occupational specific technical and administrative direction 25 percent or more of the time to three or more subordinate employees performing the work and functions of the organization.
  • Assists the Director of the NanoCore in providing leadership, managing, and directing all research-related activities within the NanoCore.
  • Evaluates the current methodologies used to characterize nanoscale materials to be used in biological and toxicological studies and evaluates advances in these methodologies in the scientific and other literature, and when required.
  • Works with other FDA Centers for seamless collaborative research.
