Molecular Parasitologist Summer Intern
Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health USA, Inc. is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our Parasitology Research department located at our Athens, GA facility. As an Intern, you will participate in a dynamic, international research program with an overarching goal of discovering new drugs for veterinary parasitology. You will play a hands-on role in driving drug discovery efforts by employing molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques to interrogate parasite biology. Throughout the course of your work, you will have exposure to multiple functions within Research and Development in animal health.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop molecular, cellular and biochemical assays to interrogate parasite biology
- Participate in research team meetings to present and evaluate data
- Work closely with scientists and project teams to prioritize assay development that provides solutions for ongoing projects
- Contribute intellectual input into innovative drug discovery efforts for veterinary parasites
Requirements:
- Must be an Undergraduate, Graduate, or Professional Student in good academic standing.
- Must have completed 12 credit hours within a related major and/or other related coursework.
- Overall, cumulative GPA (from last completed quarter) must be at least 3.000 (on 4.0 scale) or better (No rounding up).
- Major must be related to the field of internship.
Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and inter-cultural skills
- Strong academic training in advanced biology topics including molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology and/or microbiology
- Laboratory experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology and/or microbiology
- Experience communicating scientific data
- Willingness to learn new techniques and apply the acquired knowledge to solve inherent challenges in molecular parasitology
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
