Legal Summer Intern

Overview 

The Express Summer Internship Program is a 10-week paid program that offers undergraduate Juniors, Seniors and grad students the opportunity to work with and learn from experienced professionals while gaining exposure to various aspects of a retail fashion company. The Summer Intern class will include students interested in hands-on experience in an area of interest and exposure to cross-functional collaboration as well as gaining valuable professional development.

The 2023 program runs from June 5th to August 11th, and positions will be available in our Columbus, Ohio headquarters.

Responsibilities 
  • Work alongside Express' Legal professionals. 
  • Draft policies, procedures, memoranda, and correspondence on legal and compliance matters. 
  • Perform legal research and analysis regarding various areas of the business including, but not limited to, employee relations, compliance, marketing, intellectual property, privacy, and corporate governance. 
  • Review existing and new contracts for key provisions. 
  • Shadow attorneys on calls and in meetings and assist in preparations for same. 
  • Other special legal research projects as assigned.

Requirements 
  • Availability to work full time (40 hours per week) 
  • Currently enrolled in law school
