The Office of Child Welfare is seeking a social service specialist to join our team in Prineville. We are a friendly, supportive team within a small branch, where work is rewarding and fast-paced. We are in close relationship with our community partners, and we are seeking someone who can continue fostering these relationships.

In this role, you will primarily be performing services as a child protective services caseworker, although you may perform some permanency worker duties. You will mainly be assessing alleged child abuse or neglect through fact-finding interviews to determine if a child has been or is at risk of being harmed. You will determine appropriate child placement if necessary and take action to reduce risk to the child by providing emergency and crisis intervention.
