Talent Development Manager

OVERVIEW:
The Talent Development Manager is responsible for ensuring the training and development needs of the hotel are met to create a consistently high level experience for our guest and associates. You will manage the training and development function for the property to include scheduling & facilitating existing training programs, implement new training activations & programs, and ensuring that all training and development standards are met.
RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Work closely with Director of Talent & Culture to facilitate all Rosewood mandated Training/Talent Development programs.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
  • Develop strong understanding of Talent & Culture recruiting and onboarding functions to support training, service and team needs.
  • Provide professional expertise and support in the design, development and implementation of all talent development initiatives and trainings issued by Rosewood Hotels and Resorts.
  • Assist the Talent & Culture coordinator with onboarding new associates.
  • Partner with department managers to monitor service scores and customize action plans and training activities for all Rosewood Washington D.C. Associates.
  • Collaborate with Leadership Teams to assist in compiling data for training needs analyses. Develop and implement departmental and individual training plans and measure success.
  • Ensure that all Rosewood training resources are available, maintained and being utilized by associates.
  • Facilitate engaging, informative, and relevant training sessions to our associates.
  • Assign and support new associates on boarding and training plans, ensure all associates are receiving the relevant and mandatory training within their introductory period.
  • Coordinate Rosewood Perfect Discovery (New Hire Orientation) and Rosewood Departmental Discovery process for all new hires in collaboration with department managers.
  • Work closely with department managers to provide follow-up training for all new associates during their introductory stage.  
  • Prepare 90 Day Introductory Review Notifications and distribute to department managers.
  • Audit service responsibilities for the property will include scheduling and facilitating existing programs, implementing new programs and ensuring that all Rosewood training and development standards are met. Conducting service audits in operational departments to ensure our service standards and training sessions are exceeding expectations.
  • Develop dashboards and track, document and communicate metrics and analytics related to training activities to Director of Talent and Culture.
  • Develop training plans and distribute monthly training calendar.
  • Establish and implement all forms of training and learning that are most effective in our current environment and for different learning styles.
  • Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and associate morale.
  • Assist Director of Talent & Culture with recruiting efforts when needed to include phone screening, interviews and new hire paperwork. 
  • All other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience:  Minimum of two years’ experience as a hospitality trainer or training supervisor/manager. Hotel operations experience also preferred.
  • Education:  Bachelor's degree in hospitality, hotel management, human resources or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • General Skills:  Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, with advanced PowerPoint knowledge. Excellent public speaking and presentation skills. Creative with graphic design ability for presentation development and enhancement. 
  • Schedule: Flexible availability to include days, evening and at times on the weekends. This is required. 
  • Language:  Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred. Bi-lingual is a plus. 
  • Physical Requirements:   Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting 35 pounds, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
  • Licenses & Certifications:    None required.
