Intern, Development and Field Campaigns - Social Events

The American Heart Association’s Internship Program provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets for individuals interested in gaining work experience with a non-profit, voluntary health organization. Our Social Events (Heart Ball, Go Red for Women, and Impact Campaigns) are integral to the Development and Field Campaigns Team and American Heart Association. These campaigns are executed in the field across the country, engaging thousands of volunteers and raising over $115M annually in support of the mission of the Association. The Socials Campaigns team is seeking an intern with a passion for project management and design. Ideal candidates will have strong attention to detail, excel in written communication, proficient in Microsoft and Canva, and will be creative.

Internship Overview:
  • Time Commitment: 20-25 hours per week
  • Internship Duration: 1/17/2023 – 5/5/2023
  • Remote Position

Responsibilities

 
  • Design & Content Support
  • Review existing materials used to adoption of STEM Goes Red in the field and update as needed
  • Design slide decks, one-page overview documents, and other supplemental materials for Socials Campaigns as needed
  • Assist in writing Socially Speaking- a bi-weekly newsletter that informs all Socials Campaigns employees across our association of updates and key strategies
  • Community Management & Social Media
  • Assist with managing social media for the 2023 Woman of Impact campaign, including content creation, account management and moderation
  • Develop bank of social media content for future use in the Woman of Impact campaign
  •  National Events & Trainings
  • Assist in the creation of slide decks, scripts and content for national American Heart Association events and staff training
  •  Assist in project management of the planning and execution of the National Woman of Impact / Teen of Impact Celebration event
 

Qualifications

 
  • Demonstrated excellence in written communications skills
  • Ability to interact professionally in a corporate, non-profit environment and assume responsibility for guiding communications and projects from inception through completion
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities involving multiple entities
  • Basic knowledge of Canva and Microsoft Office
  • Minimum availability 20hrs/wk, M-F during normal business hours
