The American Heart Association’s Internship Program provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets for individuals interested in gaining work experience with a non-profit, voluntary health organization. The social media internship will work with other content creators within the National Marketing and Communication department to gain professional experience with a national non-profit organization while working directly to create compelling content for our social channels.

Internship Overview:
  • Time Commitment: 20 hours per week
  • Internship Duration: 1/17/2023 – 5/5/2023
  • Remote position


Responsibilities

  • Work with the Social Media content creation team to craft and execute compelling vertical video for Tik Tok, Instagram and other social media platforms
  • Monitor results of social media content on key platforms and provide analysis of findings
  • Source new content ideas and monitor trends on social platforms
  • Conduct an analysis of what other organizations and brands are doing on social media and present findings to the broader brand marketing team
  • Learn brand standards and ensure video content aligns with the goals and mission of the organization
 

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience with in app editing tools on Tik Tok and Instagram
  • Basic video, graphic design and writing skills
  • Experience with social media monitoring, reporting and analysis
  • Effective oral, written and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities involving multiple entities
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 8:30am-5pm.
