Bass Pro Shops Internship Program offers a 10-week immersive work program giving students a holistic overview of the business focusing on career and competency development while gaining valuable experience with a multifaceted company.

Here in Springfield, MO nestled among the natural beauty of the Missouri Ozarks, you’ll find Bass Pro Shops headquarters. We call it Base Camp. From here, it’s a short hike to pristine fishing holes, prime hunting grounds, wooded hills for camping, clear streams for canoeing, and much more. Why here instead of the big city? Working alongside talented individuals, you will be jumping in to assist with projects, research and work experience that directly impacts our business. We can’t forget about the fieldtrips! You will have the opportunity to take team trips to learn about the many areas of our business. We will visit our Granddaddy retail store, Big Cedar Lodge and our Boat Manufacturing Plants offering a behind-the-scenes overview of the organization to get an immersive experience about our passion for the outdoors and conservation.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is in Merchandising & Supply chain area of Information Technology department. Intern undertakes a professional internship designed to provide on-the-job training and experience to recent college graduates. Engages in various work assignments, projects, and activities of varying complexity, structured to enable the intern to gain the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform at a professional level, typically for Developer 1. Receives training and mentorship in planning and carrying out activities and assignments. During the program the Intern will have knowledge on company’s culture and best practices Has gained technical knowledge to perform day to day Developer 1 job duties Gained some knowledge on retail industry and know some processes in Merchandising and Supply chain area

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist and contribute to the team
  • Undertakes and/or participates in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise appropriate to the needs of the organization
  • Receives guidance, training, and mentoring from team members in planning and carrying out activities and assignments
  • Learn free format coding in SQLRPGLE, RPGLE, CLLE. Learn DB2 database and SQL. Learn Bass Pro shops standards for designing, coding & other processes use in day to day duties
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Education Required: Completion of Junior year of college through graduating year.
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0
  • Preferred Major: Information Technology or Computer Science
  • Available for full commitment of 10-week program (40 hours/week)
  • Currently enrolled in accredited college or university in pursuit of bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Eligible to work in the US
  • Ability to relocate to work location for the duration of the program

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex, detailed instructions
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Travel required varies based on internship, minimal.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
  • Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
