Senior Clinician

Chesterfield County’s Child & Adolescent Services Team (CAST) in the Mental Health Support Services Department is seeking a full-time, licensed, substance use therapist to join our outpatient (mental health and substance abuse) team. The position is 40 hours per-week and includes a mix of individual/family therapy and mental health case management services for youth with mental health and substance use issues. Some evening work (six hours after 5:00 each week) is required to meet the needs of the families we serve.

 

Functions include assessment and diagnosis, individualized service planning, both individual and family therapy services, case management, electronic medical record documentation, and other tasks. Perform other work as required. PLEASE NOTE: Position open until filled (first review to begin December 12, 2022).

This position is a part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications, and experience.

Successful candidate will possess a master's degree in a Human Services field such as psychology, counseling, or social work, and at least three years of relevant professional therapy experience in a mental health and substance abuse treatment setting with youth and families.; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience working with youth who may have co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders preferred. Applicants with specialized training or experience with specific populations such as youth with problematic sexualized behaviors or youth with Autism Spectrum Disorders, or training in evidence-based treatment models such as EMD or Trauma-Focused CBT are strongly encouraged to apply. Professional licensure in Virginia (such as LCSW, LPC, LMFT, etc.) is required. Successful applicants will be well-versed in the systems of care approach for youth, cognitive-behavioral treatment interventions, substance use treatment strategies, and trauma-informed care. Applicants with specialized training or experience with specific populations such as youth with problematic sexual behaviors or youth with Autism Spectrum Disorders, or with training in evidence-based treatment models such as EMDR or Trauma-Focused CBT, are strongly encouraged to apply.
