Human Resources (HR) Coordinator - CHPA - Pediatric Associates

The Human Resources Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations of the CHPA (Children’s Hospital Pediatric Associates) HR Department. CHPA is connected to the Department of Pediatrics and is the largest foundation at Boston Children’s Hospital. Major areas of responsibility include foundation benefit administration, onboarding, employee record management, and HRIS entry.

The Human Resources Coordinator will:
  • Administer health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations
  • Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions
  • Prepare and analyze reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and company
  • Prepare periodic reports for management as necessary or requested. Partners with payroll to maintain payroll database
  • Provide day-to-day benefits administration services\\Assist employees with any claim issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems effectively and efficiently
  • Provide onboarding activities for all New CHPA faculty
  • Conduct CHPA faculty new hire orientation meetings annually
  • Send out and track all offer letters with appropriate new hire paperwork for both CHPA and BCH faculty in the Department of Pediatrics
  • Complies with all existing governmental and labor legal and government reporting requirements including but not limited to any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, Worker Compensation, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
  • Participate in staff meetings; represent CHPA at HR-related meetings and events, and attend other meetings and seminars as needed or requested
  • Maintain CHPA employee-related databases
  • Prepare and analyze reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and company
  • Prepare periodic reports for management as necessary or requested. Partners with payroll to maintain payroll database
To qualify, you must have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • 2 years of related Human resources experience
  • General Knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows; Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality
  • Enjoyment with working in a fast-paced environment and juggling several priorities at once
  • Flexibility and comfortability working with demanding clients
