Data Analytics and Survey Associate - Community Planning and Development

Schedule: Hybrid, in office 3 days per week. 9/80 flex option after probation.
 
The Data Analytics and Survey Associate:
  • Works with the department’s existing survey tools and practices (including simple online surveys, map-based surveys, intercept surveys, focus groups, interviews, and social media) to create effective data collection instruments
  • Works with internal stakeholders from different functional areas with diverse needs to develop survey instruments to be used internally and externally depending on business need
  • Works closely with CPD’s communications professionals to analyze survey results and create the graphic and text analysis needed to inform data-driven decision making
  • Employs market-research best practices for designing and deploying effective and valid surveys
  • Develops and implements policies, procedures, business practices, and control mechanisms, reviews status of operations, modifies and implements procedures to improve efficiency, and determines effectiveness of desired results
  • Uses statistical, mathematical, graphic and text analysis as appropriate to provide and streamline reports, to perform quality control of existing reports and to manage any urgent requests

 

About You
 
Our ideal candidate has some or all of the following: 
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in statistical software, spreadsheets, word processing and web-based survey tools
  • B.S. degree in engineering, business, chemistry, mathematics, computer science or any related field is preferred
  • Proficiency in identifying information needs, designing research methodologies, and carrying out research projects from start to finish; Proficiency in using statistical software for primary research and data analysis
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented, has an eye for accuracy, analytical, and extremely organized
  • SQL course completed, certificate earned, or SQL experience is preferred
  • Experience creating visual representations of data/analysis
·      Experience with Tableau, PowerBI or advanced exel skills a plus

·      Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, or other related field
·      Experience Requirement: Two (2) year of professional level experience with data extraction, data management and programming, and using data and reporting to answer audit questions
·      Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education
·      Additional appropriate education may be substituted for experience requirements
