Software Developer Intern
As an intern at Synopsys, you will gain hands-on experience while working alongside industry professionals. You will develop and refine skills relevant to your major and future career by contributing to high-impact business projects. The Synopsys intern program integrates our interns into the culture with career opportunities upon graduation. This summer internship is full-time (40 hours/week) beginning May/June 2023 and will last three months.
Responsibilities:
Synopsys OSG has been the leader in making high-quality optical software for 40 years. We are a team of internally motivated individuals dedicating ourselves to produce the best optical imaging, illumination, and photonics solutions for our customer’s applications. Our software is used to design optical systems in the automotive, display, technical lighting, medical, and aerospace.
Synopsys has an opening for a Software Developer Intern within the Optical Solutions Group (OSG). We are looking for a motivated individual with passion for programming and software development who wants to contribute to a world leading software for optical design and analysis. The position requires good software development skills with working knowledge of C++.
- Work with the stakeholders to turn technical requirements into actionable tasks
- Develop C++ code to implement required software features
- Make sure the new code is covered by adequate automated tests
- Work with developers, testers and customer representatives in an agile environment to create illumination software solutions to tackle cutting edge problems
Requirements:
- Current academic pursuit of a degree in Computer Science or similar technical field
- Accomplishments in the field of Computer Science
- Hands-on experience creating C++ software
- Strong software development background
- Strong communication skills for working in team as well as the ability to read scholarly journals
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Experience with mathematics, physics and optics
- Experience in development of commercial software
- Experience with simulation or CAD software
- Keen sense of balancing the best solution versus time constraints
