Full Time Residential Counselor

Second Story for Teens in Crisis (SSTC) is an adolescent group home setting located in Vienna, VA, looking for passionate and eager individuals interested in entering and gaining experience in the mental health field. SSTC is looking to hire FULL TIME Residential Counselor and offers wonderful opportunities to experience an introduction to case management and crisis counseling in the mental health field.

 

Responsibilities: 

·     Coach and supervise residents

·     Conduct individual counseling sessions and life skills groups

·     Provide case management

·     Thoroughly document resident files

·     Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy living environment

·     Answer crisis hotline calls

·     Required to work weekend shifts and some evenings.

Schedule: Sunday – off, Monday – 3:30pm -11:30pm, Tuesday-off, Wednesday – 9:30am-5:30pm, Thursday – 3:30pm – 11:30pm, Friday – 3:30pm-11:30pm, Saturday – 8:30am-4:30pm

Requirements:

·     Must have a bachelor’s degree – preferably in psychology, human services counseling or related field required

·     Prior experience with teens is preferred

·     Ability to speak Spanish is preferred

·     Ideal candidate is a self-starter, high energy, well-organized, multi-tasker, and team player

·     Must be willing to undergo a background investigation prior to employment and be willing to be certified in CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration and Managing Aggressive Behavior training. 

Salary: $20.00/hour
