BriteLife Recovery LLC was founded in late 2019 and became operational with its first facility opened in Hilton Head South Carolina on Jan 5, 2020. BriteLife Recovery LLC’s corporate headquarters are in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. The company offers a full continuum of substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health services for adults 18 and older living with drug addiction and alcoholism. BriteLife Recovery acknowledged that there were many individuals living with addiction, and that we could help improve more people if invested in underserved communities which lead to our May 2022 expansion to where many would consider the snack food capital of the United States; Hanover, Pennsylvania. Our primary focus is to provide Hope, Health and Healing for those seeking our service through a Trauma-Informed, Holistic experience.

JOB SUMMARY
The Nurse is responsible for promoting a safe and therapeutic environment for clients all clients of BriteLife Recovery. At BriteLife Recovery, we offer a unique opportunity for nurses to maintain their therapuetic relationships with their pateints without the chaos and unsafe staffing ratios that are common in the hospital setting. There are no bedpans, IVs, or bed alarms and all clients perform their own ADLs.

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Assists clinical team with the Admissions process;
  • Administers medications, treatments and procedures according to standard nursing practices and applicable facility policies;
  • Carries out a plan of care and medication orders from Physicians and Nurse Practitioners; 
  • Educates clients regarding potential side effects of medications and observes for side effects;
  • Monitors clients for substance misuse related withdrawal symptoms;
  • Maintains electronic health records (EHR);
  • Obtains vital signs, alcohol breath content; conducts blood glucose level, TB and urinalysis testing;
  • Performs phlebotomy when ordered;
  • Provides crisis management (often involving intoxicated clients);
  • Positively promotes BriteLife Recovery to prospective clients and employees.
  • Maintain resident’s confidentiality and privacy.
  • Assure quality of care by adhering to DDAP standards of practice and facility standards of care.
  • Assist with solving resident’s problems by working with the interdisciplinary team.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current LPN or RN license in good standing in Pennsylvania.
  • Experience with documentation and data entry within an EHR 
  • Experience working with alcohol or substance use treatment preferred.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency.
COMPETENCIES -- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to interact with staff and clients in a professional manner.
  • Ability to assess needs and deliver nursing services to individuals detoxifying from substance use.
  • Ability to screen for psychoactive substance toxicity, intoxication, and withdrawal symptoms.
  • Ability to screen for danger to self or others.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to determine nursing recommendations and priorities.
  • Demonstrated adherence to acceptable ethical and behavioral standards of conduct.
  • Participation in continuing Professional Development.
  • Understanding of the benefits and limitations of toxicology testing procedures.
  • Knowledge of strategies for treating alcohol, cocaine, and other drug use.
  • Knowledge of medication-assisted therapy.
  • Ability to provide education and information to individuals and groups, through formal and/or informal processes, concerning their substance use.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accepted principles of client record management.
