Graphic Designer

About the position: (Hybrid work environment. This is not a 100% remote position) 
First Book is seeking a graphic design professional who is fun, innovative, motivated, and passionate about user experience. As First Book rolls out our upgraded Marketplace eCommerce website, we are looking for a graphic designer who can support the continued success of the site by translating business goals and objectives into creative and compelling visuals. They will help shape our look and feel strategy, establishing visual consistency across the site and site-driving communications. This role requires constant collaboration with teams across the entire organization. Therefore, the graphic designer must have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively under tight deadlines. In addition, they must be adept at conceptualizing and presenting ideas to both creative and non-creative professionals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and design Marketplace visuals, including email, web, and social media assets
Develop and design Marketplace landing pages, including wireframes and design mockups
•   Maintain, communicate, and advocate for the organization’s visual identity, standards, and guidelines
•   Work collaboratively to develop design concepts, providing best practice recommendations to ensure effective results
•   Coordinate across departments to collect data, copy, and assets needed to complete projects
•   Provide quality control of marketing materials throughout rounds of review and updates to ensure they are accurate and delivered on time
•   Archive work products and ensure content library is current and up to date

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:
•   Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to partner with others and deal effectively with multiple priorities and differing points of view 
•   Must be able to successfully manage multiple projects at a time and adapt to changing objectives
•   2+ years’ experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
•   Strong working knowledge of HTML and CSS
•   Strong understanding of Content Management Systems, e-commerce websites, and web products – proficiency with Magento a plus
•   Strong working knowledge of e-commerce best practices
•   Experience designing for responsive websites and mobile interface
•   Professional understanding of fundamental design principles and disciplines, including layout, color, and typography
•   Photography knowledge and experience a plus

Education and/or Experience: 
•   Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably with an emphasis in Graphic Design or related field
•   5+ years of professional experience in Graphic Design
•   Portfolio must be available upon request
