Senior Technical Research Assistant
The Senior Technical Research Assistant is responsible for the clinical and translational research Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) applications and platforms at MGBPM. This includes independently researching, evaluating, and implementing novel techniques related to NGS platforms that further the mission of MGBPM for both research and clinical goals. This requires oversight and management of equipment maintenance, SOPs, assessing throughput capacity and scheduling of Next Generation (NGS) sequencing platforms and applications to ensure efficient usage of resources. In addition, transitioning developed applications and techniques to routine production will entail training of other technical staff on laboratory developed assays for both research and clinical applications which includes establishing robust workflows, developing experiment tracking documentation, and writing validations and SOPs as required. This role will be involved in on-going development, optimization and troubleshooting of new techniques, procedures and use of automated equipment.
