Political and Non-profit Fundraising Fellowship- Summer 2023

Berger Hirschberg Strategies is Washington, DC and NYC’s premier Democratic political fundraising firm. Our clients include Senators, Governors, Members of Congress, Local Elected Officials and Non-Profit Organizations.

Founded by Stephanie Berger and Rachel Hirschberg – two of the nation’s leading strategists in the public policy arena today – Berger Hirschberg Strategies works with clients to develop the strategies they need to fundraise effectively and advocate for progressive causes and candidates. Our multi-tiered approach to securing financial capital has helped us generate remarkable success for our clients.

This internship provides a hands-on experience in the field of fundraising. This is an excellent opportunity for current students and recent graduates, and a great way to get your foot in the door. The level of access to the clients themselves is unparalleled and provides a unique opportunity for networking, regardless of what your long-term goals are.

Duties include:
  • Donor research and prospecting
  • Database management in NGP VAN, Excel, and Google docs
  • Event coordination: calling venues, writing and distributing invitations, and preparing briefings for clients
  • Assistance with administrative tasks: helping us file our papers, answering the phone, and keeping the office running smoothly

Candidates should be hard working, organized, have the ability to multitask, work independently and have a sense of humor.

Proficiency in NGP VAN, Excel and other databases are a plus. Applications are accepted year-round, on a rolling basis. This is an in-person fellowship.

This is an unpaid internship. As such, we are always willing to coordinate with students and their institutions to complete whatever requirements are necessary for students to receive academic credit for their time. We expect our fellows to work approximately 15-20 hours a week. We ask fellows to work in an in-person or hybrid capacity, meaning we are flexible with remote work but expect face-to-face time to better acclimate you with the team and how we function as an organization.

Check with your school's Internship Coordinator BEFORE accepting the hiring offer to determine if this position satisfies the criteria for receiving academic credit.
