Department Information

Bradford Woods is Indiana University’s Outdoor Center. As a key component of the university family, Bradford Woods seeks to promote and further the mission of the university through the teaching, service, programs, and research Bradford Woods provides. For over 50 years Bradford Woods has been providing recreational, educational, and leadership development opportunities to youth and adults locally, nationally, and globally.




Job Summary
Bradford Woods has multiple anticipated part-time positions in leadership, program implementation, and cabin life open for Summer 2023. Positions available are listed below.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
Preferred
  • Some college.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred
  • Experience in the human service and/or recreation field.
  • Experience working with children.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS
Preferred
  • CPR and First Aid certifications.

SKILLS
Required
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Flexibility and patience.
  • Ability to live on-site during the season.
  • Ability to make judgment decisions in a setting where variables can change quickly, and often without notice (such as weather conditions).
  • Ability to easily, effectively, and proficiently communicate needs, feedback, and questions throughout the program.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information.
  • Ability to provide a safe, fun environment for all.


Working Conditions / Demands

This is a physically active position requiring mobility. Ability to move and transfer equipment. Stamina to endure long hours in a position that is both physically and emotionally demanding. Nights will be part of the duties and responsibilities due to our residential capacity.

Advertised Salary

$320 - $420 per week, room and board is included on top of the flat hourly rate.
