Cabin Counselor, Instructing within The Arts

Circle F Dude Ranch Camp, a premier for-profit coed Summer Camp, is seeking vibrant, adventurous, and caring Interns to join our summer counselor team as we celebrate 71 years in continuous operation. Circle F Dude Ranch Camp Counselors and Interns are uniquely placed to make positive and life-changing impacts on young people each summer through our mission of Respect, Inspiration, Play, Positive Thinking, Leadership, and Engagement. 
 
At Circle F our counselors and interns are the primary caregivers for each camper. Our counselors and interns are responsible for the planning, teaching, coordinating, and implementation of activities and guiding campers in their personal growth and daily living skills throughout the summer. 

Circle F Dude Ranch Camp require camp counselors to be at least 18 years of age and preferably completed their first year of college or began college classes; they should be able to understand the developmental needs of young people and have strong interpersonal communication skills allowing them to relate to youth and adults in a positive and professional manner.
 
Applicants should have some level of interest and experience in at least one of our program specific areas outlined above, they should also be willing to train in other areas in which camp feel they will be best suited to.


Position Purpose:
Staff working within our Art Department have the primary responsibility as caregivers for each camper in their cabin. They have the added responsibility of teaching and carrying out activities in the arts department that guide campers in personal growth toward the goals and mission of Circle F Summer Camp.
 
Essential Job Functions in the Cabin:
1.   Assist in the direction, supervision, and organization of campers in the cabin, at meals, and when traveling to activities at all times.
2.   Be aware of camp safety policies and educate and properly enforce polices with campers as needed.
3.   Maintain a high level of camper hygiene and sanitation in cabins, including but not limited to making sure campers are showering every day, wearing proper footwear to activities, wearing insect repellant and sunscreen as needed, and changing clothes and bed sheets on regular basis. 
4.   Be a role model to campers and fellow staff in your attitude and behavior.
5.   Take active interest in camper’s well-being and camp experience by communicating with camper in cabin on regular basis and hosting nightly gatherings or cabin conversations.
 
Essential Job Functions in the Arts Department:
1.   Assist in the delivery of arts and crafts activities that make use of different art mediums, make use of the camp’s natural environment, and use the art resources most efficiently and is appropriate for the age and ability of the campers
2.   Ensure that other department camp staff and campers know and follow safety and educational procedures of art department.
3.   Assist in the management and care of the physical facilities and equipment in the arts and crafts program area including cleaning, inventory, and keeping area organized.
 
Other Job Duties:
­ Participate enthusiastically in all camp programing, planning and leading those as assigned.
­ Participate as a member of the camp team to deliver and assist with evening programs, special events, overnights, and other all-camp activities and camp functions as needed.
­ Work to complete camp projects as needed.
