Financial Aid Administrative Assistant

The Office of Financial Aid is looking for a friendly, driven, and self-motivated student worker for the 2022-2023 school year. Serving as front line student support, this position will provide customer support and assist with administrative tasks.

Responsibilities include:

Supporting the office by performing administrative tasks, to include:
o  Staffing the front desk to greet visitors and answer general questions in a professional manner.
o  Answering phone calls, responding to voice mails, and replying to emails in a timely manner.
o  Reviewing submitted documents for completion and proper signage.
o  Collecting, scanning, and indexing documents into the records management system.
o  Collecting and distributing office mail.
·        Helping parents and students understand the process of financial aid.
·        Identifying outstanding requirements and assists students with obtaining the documents required to satisfy them.
·        Providing support with special projects and outreach initiatives.
·        May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Must demonstrate financial need and indicate your interest in the work-study program.
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours to qualify for the Federal Work-Study program.
  • Must be available to work 6-10 hours a week.

  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter who can work independently to complete tasks.
  • Multi tasker who can work in a fast paced environment.
  • Quick learner who can learn to navigate student management system.
  • Ability to use MS Word, Excel and Outlook for basic/moderate level functioning

Other Requirements:

Professionalism is required in dress and actions at all times. Dress for student employees is casual but not controversial. Tee-shirts bearing language or art which is likely to offend others, torn clothing, unkempt appearance, or revealing clothing which exposes parts of the body typically covered in a work setting should be avoided. If in doubt, please ask the Supervisor. Excessive absences and tardiness are grounds for dismissal.
