Interns are an important part of what makes JLL a great place to work. Within our program, interns are an integral part of our team working alongside real estate analysts, transaction professionals and other associates. You will gain valuable insight into the commercial real estate industry while being exposed to multiple lines of business over the course of your internship.
JLL is looking for qualified interns to join our 2022 summer internship program. The ideal candidate should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment along with exhibiting detail-orientation, organization, demonstrated initiative, and a motivation to learn. The intern will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of Commercial Real Estate. The Occupancy Planning Intern will work with our team in Charlotte or Jacksonville, FL to support a financial client with a large real estate portfolio.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in supporting site specific planning and relocation initiatives of various size and complexity
- Conduct space audits/data verification by walking floors and checking actual occupancy against database records (including seat assignments, occupancy, vacancy). Check accuracy of floor plans against as-built conditions
- Work with spreadsheets to collect, quantify and report occupancy data
- Provide ongoing space planning support. Activities may include: gathering space requirements (programming), conducting utilization studies, and/or using CAD software to develop basic test-fits that align with client guidelines and maximize use of space
- Utilize technology tools to develop and communicate clear and efficient planning solutions
- As necessary, participate in project and move coordination planning meetings
Qualifications & Skills:
- Current undergraduate in their junior or senior year or graduate level students with a major or concentration in interior design, architecture, facilities management or commercial real estate
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint
- Able to think critically and problem solve
- Strong Excel & analytical skills – interest in analyzing data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Client service mindset and attitude
- Accountable and professional with strong time-management skills
