Senior Digital Content Producer

The Senior Digital Content Producer is skilled at working within strict deadlines to develop multimedia digital content that delivers measurable results. You will supervise daily news coverage and evolve ideas across all digital platforms. Responsible for overseeing all daily editorial decisions and presentation of content on web, mobile, and social platforms. Assist web producers with creating and publishing text stories, video, photos, streaming of newscasts, breaking news and live news events whenever necessary. Ensure efficient delivery of breaking news content across all digital platforms in real-time. Facilitate gathering of compelling, timely digital content using information from various sources and contacts. Participate in news editorial meetings, working with news managers to integrate broadcast and digital content across all platforms. Oversee the station's social media strategy, including promotion of overall brand and talent. Continuously evaluate all digital and social content, tracking success and outlining future opportunities for improvement. Constantly monitor digital and social analytics, using data to drive content decisions and create an optimal experience for the user. Communicate trends as they develop to the digital team and newsroom. Develop and maintain special coverage sections and platform-specific content, both for planned events and breaking news. Maintain digital editorial calendar. Collaborate with sales and promotions to create advertising or other promotional content as needed. Constantly update staff on best practices for digital publishing and overall digital and social strategies. Oversee digital publishing workflows, always looking for the most efficient yet effective ways to get things done. Stay on top of the latest digital technology news and understand new platforms as they emerge. Maintain continuous communication and collaboration with other senior digital producers in the FTS station group, looking for opportunities to share relevant content from other markets and beyond. Perform various administrative duties to keep all digital and social platforms current and running smoothly, including maintaining relationships with vendors and other partners, both internal and external. Must be creative, concise, and attentive to detail. Able to handle deadline pressure, take direction from news managers and digital leadership. Adapt quickly to emerging digital technology. Fill in for web producers as needed. Ability to take direction, think critically under pressure, and work professionally as part of a cohesive team, and individually, within specific time constraints. Friendly, respectful and collaborative. Positive attitude, good judgement and excellent communication skills. Interact effectively and professionally with on-air staff, off-air staff, production and technical crews, other departments, and management. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: BA/BS Degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, or related field with emphasis on digital publishing. Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing and publishing news content for digital platforms. Superior writing skills and news judgement. Advanced knowledge of content management systems, social media platforms, live streaming, digital analytics tools and emerging digital technologies. Working knowledge of HTML, video editing and photo editing software. Experience publishing and maintaining podcasts a plus. Ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities simultaneously in a strict, deadline-oriented environment. Must be able to work flexible hours; weekends and holidays may be required.
