School Based Therapist / Counselor - West Branch Local Schools

Pathway Caring for Children is hiring full-time School-Based Therapists or Counselors for the West Branch Local School District. Job Duties/Description: Conduct Individual and Family Therapy Diagnostic/Mental Health Assessment Group Therapy Mental Health Consultation Position will be predominantly school-based, and may include some office-based and/or community-based work Populations served may range from early childhood to transition-aged adolescent and young adults with a wide range of diagnoses and presenting problems. Flexibility to work after school to accommodate family schedules and ensure family involvement
 
Skills and Experience: Experience/skill or willingness to obtain skills in working with a variety of populations Ability to engage a wide range of clients and parents, including those from diverse populations, and those uncertain about the value and/or necessity of MH services. Ability to work effectively with other professionals both within and outside the mental health profession. Experience/skill or willingness to obtain skills in applicable modalities and interventions, including, but not limited to, evidenced-based /evidenced-informed practices as required. Training and practice experience that is "trauma-informed" Must be culturally competent and willing to work with clients and families within various and diverse populations.
 
Requirements:
  • Minimum requirement of a Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum valid Ohio LSW or LPC.
  • Knowledge of mental health assessment, treatment planning, developmental psychopathology, systems and methods in family therapy group therapy, child psychotherapy, DSM-V diagnoses, and behavioral therapy.
  • Sensitivity in relating to persons of varying backgrounds and demonstrate ability to work with diverse groups of people possessing various strengths, aptitudes and abilities.
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Practical and creative problem solving skills.
