Under minimal supervision, the Software Development Engineer can be responsible for several components of a project or a complex component of a larger project. This position contributes to
their team by applying their advanced knowledge of one or more functional areas or fields!
Your job responsibilities as a Software Engineer include:
- Work closely with platform and web developers to ensure the integrity of the application throughout the development life cycle.
- Work within a multi-functional software team to produce tangible, functional work.
- Architect, design, and implement features in existing applications, new applications, and service-based solutions
- Translate agile software development stories into reusable units of functionality
- Champion best practices for software development
In addition, you will have exposure to formal and on-the-job training in areas such as:
- Agile methodologies
- Change management
- Customer engagement
- Project management
- Product management
Experience / Qualifications:
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident
- COVID-19 vaccines will be required for all newly hired Carrier U.S. Salaried employees
- Proactive and results-driven; thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Relevant internships or co-op experiences within Engineering functions
- Less than one year of professional work experience
- Strong knowledge of a popular object-oriented programming language and its paradigms
- Some experience with REST or other web API knowledge
- Some experience working with databases such as Microsoft SQL Server
- Familiarity with Agile development methodology
- Familiarity with multi-threaded server applications
- Familiarity with source control management, preferably Git
- Familiarity with ReactJS, AngularJS, or similar technologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable with both collaborative and independent work
- Assertive and respectful in technical discussions
Education:
- Bachelors or Master's degree in Engineering, Digital, or STEM-related field
- GPA must be greater than or equal to 3.0 GPA
- Relevant coursework or previous internships preferred
