Engineering Leadership Program - Software Engineer (NR)

Under minimal supervision, the Software Development Engineer can be responsible for several components of a project or a complex component of a larger project. This position contributes to
their team by applying their advanced knowledge of one or more functional areas or fields!

Your job responsibilities as a Software Engineer include:
  • Work closely with platform and web developers to ensure the integrity of the application throughout the development life cycle.
  • Work within a multi-functional software team to produce tangible, functional work.
  • Architect, design, and implement features in existing applications, new applications, and service-based solutions
  • Translate agile software development stories into reusable units of functionality
  • Champion best practices for software development

In addition, you will have exposure to formal and on-the-job training in areas such as:
  • Agile methodologies
  • Change management
  • Customer engagement
  • Project management
  • Product management
 Experience / Qualifications:

  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident 
  • COVID-19 vaccines will be required for all newly hired Carrier U.S. Salaried employees  
  • Proactive and results-driven; thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Relevant internships or co-op experiences within Engineering functions
  • Less than one year of professional work experience
  • Strong knowledge of a popular object-oriented programming language and its paradigms
  • Some experience with REST or other web API knowledge
  • Some experience working with databases such as Microsoft SQL Server
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodology
  • Familiarity with multi-threaded server applications
  • Familiarity with source control management, preferably Git
  • Familiarity with ReactJS, AngularJS, or similar technologies.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable with both collaborative and independent work
  • Assertive and respectful in technical discussions
Education:

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Engineering, Digital, or STEM-related field
  • GPA must be greater than or equal to 3.0 GPA  
  • Relevant coursework or previous internships preferred
