Athletics – Cross Country/Track & Field Graduate Assistant

Candidates must be accepted into one of the Graduate Programs here at Lander University prior to beginning the position.
 
Compensation: Selected candidate will receive a 50% tuition and fee waiver as well as a $3000 stipend per semester. Note that if the GA position does not relate directly to their graduate studies the student will be taxed on the stipend and tuition benefits. Graduate Assistants work approximately 20 hours per week during the school year. Graduate Assistantships may be renewed for one additional year.
 
Primary Responsibilities
 
Lander University is accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant for the Cross Country and Track & Field programs. Applicants with a background in sprints, jumps, or throws are preferred. The successful candidate will be able to assist the Head Coach in all aspects of running a successful NCAA Division II Cross Country and Track & Field program. These include, but are not limited to: Assist in recruitment of prospective student athletes, assist in planning and conducting practices for all event groups, assist in transportation to meets when needed, monitoring and running study hall for student athletes, managing team social media, adherence to all rules and regulations of the NCAA Division II and Peach Belt Conference. Minimum Qualifications are: Bachelor’s Degree, excellent verbal and written communication skills, driver’s license, three years of competing or coaching.
