What will you do once you are here? As a writer/producer you will be a fully contributing member of the digital and news team. This position requires exceptional written, verbal and digital media skills. You must have solid news judgement. You will conceptualize and produce high-profile, creative and engaging material for use across the station’s digital platforms, including text stories, photos, links and related information. Post and engage with users on the station’s social media platforms and track the metrics associated with those efforts. Perform duties of on-line writer/producer, specializing in print style writing, copy editing and editorial gathering. Must monitor satellite/remote feeds for breaking news events. Perform desktop editing for digital. Facilitate the editorial gathering of local news and breaking news stories, gleaning information from various sources and contacts and reproducing material into strong compelling digital content. Apply commonly-accepted standards of journalism. Qualified candidates will have experience writing digital stories, sending breaking push alerts, live streaming, and editing photos, graphics and videos. Must be able to work in fast-paced environment. Excellent writer and storyteller. Flawless writing and copy editing skills. High standard of quality and attention to detail. Deadline driven. Social media enthusiast. Must be exceptionally creative and able to find new ways to present information. Must be self-motivated. Ability to take direction, think critically under pressure, and work professionally as part of a cohesive team, and individually, within specific time constraints. Friendly, respectful and collaborative. Positive attitude, good judgment and excellent communication skills. Interact effectively and professionally with on-air staff, off-air staff, production and technical crews, and management. Other duties as assigned. Constantly uses verbal, audible, and visual abilities to perform essential functions. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Constantly operates PC to complete required news items and related materials. Requires fine motor skills. May sit for extended periods.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or related field. Possess three (3) years of newsroom and digital media experience. Two to three (2-3) years' experience in a medium to major broadcast market is required. Experience in publishing content on digital and social platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube preferred. Weekends, holidays and varied hours required.
