Performance Creative Spring Internship (Art Director, Copywriting)

As a Merkle Performance Creative intern, you will be fully embedded in the creative process from brief through production and grow your creative concepting and implementation skills alongside creative teams that service our world class clients every day. You will work on creative campaigns that span the range of ad formats with a focus on digital platforms including audio, video, animation for social media platforms, the web and mobile. Your work will also include some direct response media including direct mail and email, powerful ways to drive consumer response. As an Art Director/Design Intern you will…
  • Be comfortable in the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
  • Apply design fundamentals such like typography, composition, and brand guidelines
  • Support the design team across various brand touchpoints including print, experiential, video, social, and campaign look and feel
  • Execute visual excellence in deliverables
  • Be proficient at Photoshop and/or Illustrator
  • Have a great design sense
  • Knowledge of digital design and development,
  • Have a general sense/understanding of branding and messaging, and the ability to work closely with a Copywriter to meet client objectives
  • Be able to take and apply constructive feedback to creative work.

As a Copywriter Intern you will…
  • Have great communication skills and be able to talk about your ideas
  • Have strong written English skills
  • Are able to translate a business need and consumer point of view into a creative solution in the form of copy – headlines, sub-heads, body-copy, calls to action, etc.
  • Be able to partner with art directors and other creative partners to develop work and meet client objectives.
  • Be able to take and apply constructive feedback to creative work.

Qualifications:

  • Rising seniors, recent graduate, career, career changers looking to enter a new industry, or anyone interested in gaining more experience in the creative field
  • Work in a team-based, fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
  • Resourceful, aptitude for learning new skills, and initiative to participate in advanced projects
  • Self-motivated, well organized, and resilient to changing timelines, requests, and deliverables 
  • Receive and apply constructive feedback, push past your comfort zone, and keep work on schedule
  • Strive for creative excellence
  • A portfolio of creative work/creative examples are required for any creative internship

Additional Details
  • $15.00/hour - 20 or 40 hours per week
  • Dates: February 7th through April 29th
