Technical Intern 2 (Summer 2022) (74463BR)

BAE Systems is seeking an intern who will assist with implementing system level developmental tests of the Aegis Weapon System in a land based Aegis Combat System test environment. The test program is designed to verify government acceptance requirements involving US and Foreign Military Sales programs are met. In order to be eligible for this 3-month internship, applicants must be enrolled in a 2 or 4-year institution and have completed their Sophomore year.

The selected candidate will:

Apply basic knowledge of engineering principles in performing routine engineering work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. This job description is applicable only to seasonal or summer hires and is not intended for full time employees.

Learn applicable Test and Evaluation processes, methods, and philosophy.

Participate with and assist Test Engineers to establish the intent of relevant acceptance requirements from system level specifications and then design and/or review test procedures built to test and capture test artifacts for those requirements.

Assist Test Engineers to perform and/or witness system level integration of computer programs through performance tests as a U.S. Navy representative, collect relevant data, analyze test results, document equipment failures, track problem resolutions, and report out on the findings in support of government Program Certification decisions.

Provide weekly and monthly activity inputs to the designated Subtask Leader.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High School Diploma/GED and must have completed Sophomore year and currently be enrolled in an accredited college/university, pursuing Engineering, Computer Sciences, or Mathematics discipline as a declared major.

Security clearance requirement: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
