Reliability Engineer Intern (Summer 2022 - Olathe, KS)

We are looking for a full-time Reliability Engineer Intern for our headquarters in the greater Kansas City area. In this role you will help create, develop, perform, and coordinate basic reliability analysis, test plans and procedures to improve quality and reliability of Garmin products, processes, and systems in a team orientated environment. Other essential functions include: 
 
  • Assist Reliability and/or EMC Engineers in development and execution of test procedures by applying the appropriate level of measurement skills, equipment operation, and tool utilization.
  • Perform electrical and/or mechanical prototyping, including reading/following schematics and layout drawings.
  • Set up standard test apparatus or devise test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests in order to evaluate performance and reliability of designs.
  • Independently setup, run, and complete detailed test procedures with little direction.
  • Maintain accurate records of test conduct along with the appropriate data, pictures, media, etc.
 
Qualifications: 
Qualified candidates shall possess completed coursework toward a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related degree, from a four-year college or university and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with test equipment and software tools for electronics design, testing and documentation
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
A cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5 and previous experience with test equipment and software tools for electronic design, testing, and documentation is highly preferred!
